When Judith Kerr was asked ‘What is the key to a good illustration?’ she said “I think it should be of something that isn’t in the text so as to add something to the story.”
My favourite thing about being an illustrator is visualising the ideas of others, the unseen and unknown, then taking it right back to pen and paper and creating it, which is why book illustration is my passion.
